What is a typical round trip in Vietnam?
A popular Vietnam tour takes you from north to south, you will get a good
insight into the big differences that exist in the country. However, be sure to
check out the
weather in Vietnam before
planning your trip, as there may be big
differences from north to south.
A typical tour of Vietnam starts in either
Hanoi (North Vietnam) or
Ho Chi Minh
(South Vietnam), which are the two largest
cities in Vietnam. It is also in one
of these city's airport you will land when you arrive in Vietnam. It will be
best to spend between 2-3 weeks for your trip, with this time frame can reach
from north to south and see all of
Vietnam's major attractions along the way.
This is how your
Vietnam tour can be seen
Start in Hanoi - Take one night or two in
Hanoi city so you can relax after the
long flight.
Hanoi's old quarter is worth spending a day in exploring the
densely packed streets and shops.
Hiking in Sapa - Then we recommend exploring the area around Sapa, where there
is ample opportunity for walking in the beautiful scenery, through mountain
villages and large terraced rice fields.
Sapa is a big contrast to Hanoi, and
you will experience more of the true Vietnamese culture here.
Boat cruise in Ha Long Bay - Finish your Northern part with a sailing trip on
the beautiful
Halong Bay between thousands of limestone cliffs and the emerald
green waters. We recommend staying on the boat so you can wake up to a fantastic
morning in the bay. Ha Long Bay is a must-see in Vietnam.
Down south to
Hue - Now move down to the central part of Vietnam and the
empire
city of Hue, filled with historic mansions and palaces from the time when the
emperor lived in the city. If you are historically interested and appreciate
beautiful architecture, you will like Hue.
Further to
Hoi
An - From Hue, you go to the
ancient city of Hoi An, which is a
favorite site for travelers to Vietnam. The city is incredibly charming with its
colorful streets and rich cultural life. Here you can also enjoy a couple of
days at the beach, which is certainly needed after the recent days of
activities.
Take a few days in
Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) - Take a short flight from Hoi An
to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), which is the beginning of your round trip in South
Vietnam. Here you can take a few days' nights.
Ho Chi Minh is a big city with
many cultural experiences and plenty of shopping opportunities. Secondly, the
city is also a good starting point for more important sights in South Vietnam.
Visit the Mekong River Floating markets - The Mekong River runs through Vietnam.
Close to Ho Chi Minh, there has been a special culture by the river, namely the
floating markets that thrive in the small, circular canals. Here you can shop
for local food from the wooden boats on the river. It is an obvious opportunity
to taste the local produce while enjoying the atmosphere.
Crawl in the Cu Chi tunnels - About 50 km from Ho Chi Minh you will find the
famous Cu Chi tunnels that were used by the Communists during the Vietnam War to
make attacks on the enemy. They are claustrophobic narrow, and it is very hard
to imagine anyone can navigate around them. Do not forget that they have also
been used as underground hospitals. You may even be allowed to crawl a little
piece if you dare.
The above may be some typical milestones on your round
trip in Vietnam. You can
also choose to start in Ho Chi Minh and then continue up to the north. The
cities of Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi are both good starting points for a round trip.
Extend your holiday to Laos and
Cambodia
Vietnam borders both Laos and Cambodia, so if you want to combine your round
trip in Vietnam with other Asian countries, it's obvious to choose these.
A tour of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia is a journey in former French Indochina.
All 3 countries are former French colonies and it is exciting to see how the
French has influenced the culture of the countries differently.
If you travel from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh, you can proceed to Cambodia where the
classic stops are Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, where you can experience Angkor Wat
temples. From here you can travel further into Laos or hit the road through
Thailand.

Testimonials
Dear Ms Helen Pham
We had a wonderful amazing trip and will return as soon as we can afford it again. Thank you so much! I will write a great review on tripadvisor. Really the guides and hotels and tours were awesome. Ms. Nhung was very sweet and refreshingly honest, very likeable. Mr. Tam was fantastic, highly knowledgeable and funny. Probably our best "tour" was the day we spent on motor bikes visiting the tombs near Hue. The bikes allow for a much more intimate view of the countryside. And then - as I wrote - Mr. An was absolutely the best guide ever...Read more
